With the Vacation movies, Chevy Chase proved that he could be funny, but not just funny. He had a good sense of character and what made them tick. The same goes for Beverly D’Angelo as Ellen Griswold (and later Audrey). She played the formidable female foil to his heroics without ever being too much of a pain in the butt. Randy Quaid also did a great job as Cousin Eddie Johnson, who was more than willing to commit crimes on behalf of his cousins. Ethan Embry was also good as Rusty Griswold’s dim-witted best friend. Shae D’Lyn did well as Natalie’s rebellious daughter, Audrey too! Marisol Nichols and Shanna Moakler were both excellent additions to the cast.”
