What Does A Cleric Draw Faith In?

What does a cleric draw faith in?

As a cleric, your connection to the divine powers is strong. You can use this connection to cast spells tied to your faith, called domains. Each domain has its own set of associated bits, which you can choose from when launching an attack from another spell list. Each part also grants you access to one cantrip per spell level at 1st level (and again every even level after).

You draw upon divine energy to create a variety of magical effects. Called a domain by their faith, these aspects are channels for your power.

You gain access to unique spells by using Divine Domain Spells Slots.

Each domain is detailed at the end of the class description, and each one provides examples of spells you can cast to illustrate the nature of that domain.

  • Death Domain (evil)

When you choose this class at 1st level, you pick one domain related to your deity. The following domains are available:

  • Artificer
  • cleric of Azezti (N)
  • Cleric of Calistria (CN) and Garl Glittergold (LE), or Calistria only; if you select the latter, she can be either good or evil, depending on her alignment. She is also the best-known caster in this group and has access to spells that other clerics do not have until they are higher than her own highest spell slot level for each episode listed above. She does not gain any new episodes but additional magic items from these schools at higher levels.

When you finish a long rest, you regain all expended spell slots from this feature.

If a spell belongs to multiple domains, you can cast it with any domain spell slot.

If a spell belongs to multiple domains, you can cast it with any domain spell slot. For example, if you have the part of air and the [field] of death magic, you can use either one’s spell slots instead of both at once.

A cleric gains access to unique spells by using Divine Domain Spells Slots. Each cleric has several spell slots per day equal to their Wisdom modifier (minimum 1). They regain all uses of these slots when they finish a long rest.

A cleric’s domain determines the type and level of spells they can cast from their spell list and what domain spell slot they have available to them at any given time.

Conclusion

A cleric is a divine spellcaster in the classic sense. They choose one domain related to their deity when they choose this class at 1st level and gain access to spells within that domain using Domain Spells Slots, which are detailed at the end of the class description. Clerics can also cast spells from any spell list, but they must select them from only one domain, making them more limited than other spellcasters (such as wizards) who have access to all fields.
